Here at Canvas, there is no one to impress or put on a show for. We are real people with real problems exploring a real Jesus together. There are no perfect people – and we like it like that. We won’t pretend to be anything other than what God created us to be. Authenticity can be seen in everything we do; our
relevant teaching, exciting worship and in how we live.
We were never created to live life all alone. In fact, we thrive when we are doing life together. At Canvas, we chose community over isolation. We believe that life should be enjoyed and shared with other people - that’s why God gave us each other!
The bible is incredibly clear when it says “Don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says.” (James 1:22). It can be really easy to read the Bible – but incredibly difficult to actually put it into action. At Canvas, we value obedience over knowledge so that other people can see God in us through our actions.
Jesus made it clear that his plan for the church to grow was through making disciples who make more disciples (Matt. 28:18-20). At Canvas we embrace this call to make disciple makers and are invested into each other’s lives.
Jesus said that it is more blessed to give than it is to receive – and we fully stand behind that statement. Not only do we expect our people to be generous at Canvas, but it isn’t uncommon for us to give whole offerings away to other organizations in the community. We believe that the more we give, the more God
Who said you can’t laugh in church?! We believe God gave us the gift of laughter, friendship and adventure – and we want to embrace them as we grow closer to Him and to each other.
